Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sr. Firmware Engineer to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing the firmware required to interpret and manipulate the data from a variety of sensing technologies used in the ONICON family of flow and BTU metering systems. This includes developing and refining new calculation algorithms and improving existing ones. This job also includes being a technical project lead for the development of precision measurement devices.
Essential Functions:
- Generate firmware using "C" code for various microprocessor and MCU platforms.
- Develop test procedures and write software unit tests.
- Lead and participate in design reviews.
- Define technical requirements and software architecture, including drivers based on market and top-level system requirements.
- Design, implement and test algorithms for measurement devices

Qualifications:
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Masters a plus)
- Minimum skills requirements:
- 5+ years' experience with programming in C
- 5+ years' experience in hands on development of measurement or scientific instrumentation
- 10+ years' experience in programming embedded devices
- Version Control Git and/or SVN
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred Skills:
- Technical Leadership
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience using higher level programming language, such as Python
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
