Job Description:

The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivable balances while maintaining positive relationships with customers. This role involves working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and payment application, as well as resolving any discrepancies or disputes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:


• Manage business-to-business (B2B) collections activities, ensuring timely follow-up on past-due accounts.


• Track outstanding and collected revenue in the accounting system and prepare reports as needed.


• Collaborate with internal accounting and operations teams to research and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.


• Apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile accounts receivable balances.


• Maintain accurate records of collection efforts, communications, and payment arrangements.


• Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and effectively via phone and email.


• Assist with other accounting functions as needed, such as invoicing or account reconciliations.


• Utilize ERP or accounting software to manage customer accounts and track collection activities.

Qualifications:


• Proven experience in B2B collections and accounts receivable functions.


• Working knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with AR processes.


• Experience with NetSuite or other ERP/accounting systems preferred.


• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a professional phone manner.


• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.


• Determined and persistent attitude with a commitment to resolving issues and achieving results.
