Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver for our local roofing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to various job sites while ensuring safe and timely deliveries. This role requires a strong understanding of the ability to operate various types of vehicles. If you have experience in delivery driving or possess mechanical knowledge, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles including box trucks, pickup trucks, and dump trailers to transport roofing materials and equipment.
  • Load and unload materials at job sites, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety compliance.
  • Navigate routes efficiently to meet project timelines.
  • Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organization.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with various vehicle types including forklifts, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving heavy materials and operating loading equipment like pallet jacks.
  • Previous experience in delivery driving or shuttle driving is preferred.
  • Knowledge of route driving and freight management is advantageous.
