DevSecOps Engineer
to join the team in
Charleston, SC
-*can also be remote The DevSecOps Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineers to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes and ensure the security of our infrastructure. They will provide dedicated audit support and develop artifacts on a proactive basis to support audits for our customers. The DevSecOps Engineer will also participate in on-call after hours support rotation to provide troubleshooting support to our customers.
Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense's (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran's Affairs' (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.
Responsibilities
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-
- Collaborate with team members to improve the company's engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security
- Linux administration
- Network Infrastructure (BigIP F5, VPN, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS: EC2, VPC, Lambda, S3, EFS, ECR/ECS, Route53, IAM, RDS, Autoscaling, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, etc.)
- CI/CD and application build and deploy (Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Xray, Jira, SonarCube)
- Experience with writing and troubleshooting code be it compiled, scripted, or otherwise
- Experience with Configuration management/Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Automate manual operational work by using scripting or DevOps tools
- Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability
- Develop and maintain design, troubleshooting, and audit documentation
- Implement security measures that align with industry standards and meet the needs of the organization
- Participate in incident response and troubleshooting efforts as issues arise
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related IT discipline.
Experience:
Master's degree with 6 years of experience (or Bachelors with 8 years of experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field. Degree may be substituted with additional relevant industry experience and / or industry accepted training and certification.
Preferred Experience:
- Security + Certification
Specific Experience:
Responsible for developing the DevSecOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) architecture of small systems or subsystems of larger system. Select tools, technologies, and methodologies that support automated build, deploy, operation, and monitoring of systems. Coordinates across cross-functional teams to remove impediments to CI/CD in order to accelerate capability delivery and increase the quality and reliability of operational system. Ultimately responsible for the DevSecOps architecture of the sub-system. Note: Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
