Indianapolis, Indiana, United States The PATH School Full time

JOB SUMMARY

At The PATH School (TPS), we seek candidates who are committed to our vision, mission and core beliefs.  TPS staff members are passionate about serving urban scholars. They have the utmost respect for their scholars and their families, and are absolutely committed to their scholars' academic and personal development and success. TPS staff members believe deeply in the importance of the social and emotional development of young people and are committed to demonstrating that belief daily.  The Multidisciplinary Team System of Support (MTSS) Specialist is a critical component of our school and plays an integral role in our support system for young people.

The MTSS Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing a comprehensive multi-tiered system of support (MTSS). This role works collaboratively across school teams to create and refine a schoolwide strategic plan for MTSS implementation across Tiers I, II, and III. Areas of focus include basic needs, academic support, attendance, social-emotional learning and relationships, and mental and physical health. The MTSS Specialist facilitates phased, leveled implementation; provides continuous guidance to site MTSS teams; and coordinates ongoing check-ins among departments to ensure system alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PATH team meetings for all grade bands.
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team (M-Team) and all related meetings.

  • Facilitate professional development for interventionists, teachers, staff, and administrators.

  • Facilitate professional development sessions related to Section 504.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to identify effective solutions to learning and behavioral needs, while expanding interventions that reduce over-identification and disproportionality in special education.
  • Participate in planning and integrating services for tiered intervention needs.
  • Assist staff in understanding child and adolescent development and its impact on learning and behavior.
  • Maintain professional standards by engaging in conferences, seminars, and ongoing professional development.
