Job Responsibilities
Position Title: Systems Engineer II (Avionics / Electrical Systems)

Position Description

Under general direction, designs, develops, and implements project requests related to all aspects of aircraft systems engineering and integration, including avionics, electrical, and mechanical modifications, from concept to certification

General Purpose & Company Overview
Will be working on components SPECIFIC to aviation in medical and military specialties. Pilatus does custom order modifications for medical, first-responder, search & rescue, EMS and Army / Military aircraft.

Security Clearance - Not required. But will be working with 'Export Controlled Data' and must meet permanent residency requirements.

Products / Components They Will Work On / Support
Electro-optical cameras, radios, mapping technologies, ethernet networking systems (Anything related to medical / first responder type components in planes / aviation applications). Will be designing parts, brackets, larger assemblies. Components will interface with secondary structures, not primary / safety structures. Does not need primary structure or safety structure experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, implements, and manages modifications to PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft from concept through completion of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process.
• Specifies, implements, tests and certifies ISR platform applications for PC-12 and PC-24
• Compiles and authors technical content and illustrations for airworthiness (ICA, SB, Instructions) and operational documents (AFMS, Platform Operator documentation)
• Plans, coordinates and liaise with all departments for certification activities required to achieve FAA STC approvals, Field Approvals, maintenance, and validation of current and future approvals
• Functions as project coordinator with internal and external stakeholder for assigned projects
• Prepares various reports, inspection and test/acceptance procedures
• Identifies and manages outside engineering products and services suppliers with respect to statement of work, schedule, design review, project management, and product certification

Other Duties/Responsibilities

• Supports technical meetings, design reviews, and product acceptance with customers and authorities
• Provides technical guidance in all aspects of avionics, electrical, and aircraft systems integration
• Coordinates various engineering aspects with Pilatus Aircraft OEM Engineering in Switzerland to ensure conformance with established engineering standards, procedures, and practices

Skills/Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1-3 years of related experience in aviation required
• Experience with complex aircraft design, modification and certification projects preferred
• (Pilatus PC-12/PC-24 type and/or latest generation Integrated Flightdeck familiarity strongly desired)
• Strong familiarity and demonstrated experience with 14 CFR Part 23 compliance requirements
• (TCCA CAR523 and EASA CS 23 experience beneficial)
• CAD application knowledge [ECAD experience is a must (OrCAD desired) as well as PDM/PLM familiarity such as Siemens Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Solid Edge application knowledge is beneficial]
• Excellent report writing, presentation skills, and multitasking ability
• Demonstrated experience in Completions Center or Part 145 Repair Station environment beneficial
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
• Must meet the criteria of a U.S. person as defined under ITAR 22 CFR 120.62

Technical Background

• A strong electrical or systems engineering background is essential.
• The manager is NOT seeking candidates who are primarily mechanical engineers.
• Familiarity with the specific engineering tools and software referenced in the job description (e.g., Solid Edge, Teamcenter, OrCAD) is important for success.

Relevant Experience

• Candidates should have hands-on experience with aircraft modifications, not just new design work.
• Exposure to a variety of aircraft systems and components, including those related to medical equipment for airborne applications, is desirable.
• Familiarity with electro-optical camera systems, tactical radios, mapping applications, and Ethernet networking is a strong advantage.
• Candidates with broad component-level understanding and integration experience will align best with the position.

Best Fit: Candidates who bring diverse systems experience and can manage both the technical and practical integration aspects of aircraft modification projects will be the best fit.

Software/Tools Used

• Electrical CAD software experience required (e.g., OrCAD or similar)
• Siemens Teamcenter familiarity preferred
• Solid Edge experience not required, but some CAD familiarity expected
• Microsoft Visio preferred
