Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable maintenance technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrations on dry-freeze equipment. This position requires expertise in refrigeration and electrical diagnostics, as well as proficiency in welding, brazing, and metal fabrication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on dry-freeze equipment.
  • Repair common refrigeration and electrical failures.
  • Soft soldering and silver brazing to 1 1/2", including copper to dissimilar metals (i.e., brass and stainless steel) O.D. required.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Order parts, supplies, or equipment from vendors.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma and/or equivalent required.
  • Vocational courses in areas of HVAC/R and refrigeration license required.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration diagnostics and electrical trouble-shooting equipment.
  • Experience in maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC/R or freeze-drying equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.

  • Requires bending or twisting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Requires repetitive movement
  • Requires ability to lift to 50 lbs.

  • Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions
  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
  • Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions
  • Requires travel to locations throughout the United States
