About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Appian Developer
with strong expertise in the Appian orchestration layer to join our team, based in Hartford or remotely within the US. The ideal candidate will specialize in creating and managing rule agents that orchestrate workflows by interacting with multiple UIs simultaneously, automating complex business processes. Experience in healthcare and provider data environments is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance Appian applications focusing on the orchestration layer to automate and optimize business workflows.
  • Create and maintain rule agents capable of simultaneously interacting with multiple user interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to gather and translate healthcare and provider data requirements into efficient Appian solutions.
  • Implement best practices in Appian process modeling, expression rules, interfaces, and integrations.
  • Optimize performance of Appian orchestration workflows and resolve issues proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security policies.
  • Document technical solutions and provide ongoing support post-deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Appian BPM Suite development, focusing on orchestration and rule agent development.
  • Proven expertise in designing and building Appian rule agents for parallel UI interactions and automation.
  • Solid experience in process modeling, data management, and integration within Appian.
  • Strong knowledge of expression rules, interface design, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data domains, such as provider data, claims, or patient data, is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with DevOps processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Appian Certified Developer (CPDE or higher).
  • Prior experience in healthcare or health insurance domain.
  • Experience integrating Appian with healthcare APIs and external systems.
  • Knowledge of robotic process automation (RPA) tools integrated with Appian orchestration.
