Plan Review Division Manager - Remote

Twining Consulting Inc., formerly RADCO a Twining Company, is a nationally recognized Design Approval & Plan Inspection Agency for manufactured homes, modular homes and buildings is seeking a Plan Review Division Manager. This position will involve both technical engineering assignments, project management and personnel management. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage one of the regional Plan Review divisions and its personnel for all plan review services.
  • Assist the Plan Review Director with the Plan Review Department personnel staffing needs.
  • Assuring that plans assigned to the Division are processed and approved to the satisfaction of the regulatory programs (HUD, ANSI, State Modular Codes).
  • Coordinating with the Director of Inspections and the RTS program (Plan Approval Program) facilitator to assure co-adhesiveness among the industrialized buildings program departments.
  • Perform multi-discipline plan reviews of model plan residential and commercial buildings under governing codes.
  • Communicate deviations verbally or in writing to plan reviewers, manufacturers and clients.
  • Provide consultations on regulatory and code issues.

Required Competencies:

  • Candidate must have one of the following:
  • P.E. license as civil or structural engineer or Registered architect with at least one state.
  • ICC building plan examiner certification.
  • 5 years minimum of recent experience in plan checking and/or inspections of site built or modular constructions in both residential and commercial is preferred.
  • Knowledge of wood, concrete, and steel construction codes such as NDA, ASCE, ACI, AISC.
  • Knowledge of the current state modular codes and regulations.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written) with ability to work with clients in professional and courteous manner.
  • Experienced in computer software programs such as Auto CAD, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat and structural calculation programs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle several projects at a time.
