Patient Accounts–Patient Account Associate–Full Time 1st Shift

This 1st shift full time position is responsible for customer service questions on accounts.   The position comes with an expectation of dress, appearance and presentation that is a positive representation of WHC.  Effective communication skills are key.  The position reports to the Director of Patient Financial Services. 

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent, business courses helpful
  • Work experience in a Patient Accounts or Financial Accounts department. 
  • Computer and/or date entry experience
  • Excellent telephone skills/good public communication experience in a customer service position.  
  • Knowledge of common office machines 
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent public relation skills
  • Understanding of banking process
  • Understanding of registration and billing process 
  • Typing  60 wpm

Skill and Responsibility

  • Handles incoming calls in regards to customer service questions on accounts
  • Assist customers directly on accounts with any concerns/complaints/resolution and questions – incoming calls and at the cashier window 
  • Ability to initiate financial discussions with our patients and obtain commitment or other appropriate course of action
  • Performs collections, term arrangements, payroll deductions and joining of accounts
  • Back up cashier office and Financial Concierge
  • Assist customer and vendor accounts regarding collections
  • Prepares and returns legal request
  • Works with Billing Department on customer accounts
  • Maintain pleasant approach while under stress
