Summary

We are seeking both a Host and Server to join our team at Ella NY Pizza & Pasta in New City, NY. This role is vital in ensuring our guests receive exceptional service and enjoy their dining experience. As a Host/Server, you will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality food and hospitality.

Server Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests in a warm and friendly manner
  • Provide menus, answer questions, explain specials
  • Take food & beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
  • Serve food and drinks, check in on guests, clear plates
  • Handle guest requests, resolve complaints or escalate when necessary
  • Assist with side work (restocking, rolling silverware, cleaning, resetting tables)
  • Accurately process payments using POS system
  • Collaborate with cooks, hosts, bussers to ensure smooth service

Host Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they arrive and thank them upon departure
  • Manage reservations and waitlists (when applicable)
  • Escort guests to tables and hand out menus
  • Communicate expected wait times
  • Coordinate seating to balance server workloads
  • Answer phones and handle take out orders
  • Support servers and bussers during peak times as needed

  • Prior experience preferred (but not always required)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
  • Basic math skills for handling bills & change
  • Friendly, positive attitude and ability to work well in a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
