Position Overview:

We're looking for a fast, focused, and flexible team player to join our team as a Porter/Expo. You'll play a vital role in ensuring food is hot, accurate, and ready with flair—while keeping our dining room clean and running smooth.

Porter Responsibilities:

  • Run food & drinks
  • Reset tables
  • Restock dining room and restroom supplies
  • Support concierge and bartenders
  • Keep the hall spotless—dishes, trash, restrooms—so the vibe stays 100%
  • Help with dishes, restock supplies, and support all BOH needs

Expo Responsibilities:

  • Manage ticket flow from multiple eateries and communicate clearly with kitchen staff
  • Prep ahead to ensure well-stocked expo area (sauces, garnishes, utensils, to go containers, etc)
  • Add finishing touches—garnishes, sauces, utensils—and ensure correct ticket travels with the food
  • Call out completed orders and manage pickup windows
  • Carefully package to-go orders for an exceptional off-premise experience

Cross-Training & Culture

At Tempe Eats, flexibility is part of the job. We'll also teach you to:

  • Host: We only get one chance at a first impression Welcome guests, explain how ordering works, tech-guide guests on QR-ordering & kiosks, answer menu questions, upsell
  • Cashier: ring up orders using Toast POS
  • Overall: Delight our guests. Turn first timers into 5-star regulars. Ask for those 5-star reviews
  • We get our rushes and then we have our lulls. Take initiative to clean and do other tasks during a lull.

Pay:

  • $16/hour including guaranteed tips
  • Your paystub will show two components: (1) an hourly rate (the tippable minimum pay of $11.70 / hour) and (2) a separate line for tips. Combined, these will equal or exceed your guaranteed pay; if necessary, the company contributes to the tips line to ensure your guaranteed rate is met.
  • Cash tips are on top of your guaranteed rate. Plus, even more tip potential during late-night or special event shifts.
  • Note: You must pass training including menu tests and observations
