In this role, you'll technical direct newscasts and other local programming while ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a passion for television production, we want to hear from you.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Direct assigned newscasts, including switching and completing pre-production for all newscastsCheck all sources prior to air and monitor the status of all live shots and contentOversee the set-up, dismantling and operations of equipment including camera, audio, video and lightingEnsure smooth operation of technical equipment and services during broadcastTroubleshoot technical problems during production or broadcastWork closely with news department, directors, producers, and promotions to ensure the desired on-air look is attainedFlexible work hours required, including holidays, weekends, evenings and possible overtime hoursWHAT YOU'LL NEED:Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferredSpecialized training/certification may be requiredGenerally, 2+ years of experience in related field preferredWHAT YOU'LL BRING:Working knowledge of television station production equipmentFamiliarity with all aspects of television production including audio, switching, digital effects, camera operation and shot composition, lighting, and character generatorsGood working knowledge of computersAbility to handle multiple priorities under extreme time constraints with poise and skillSolid leadership skillsExcellent knowledge of proper composition, grammar and spellingExcellent communication skills and ability to give directions in a clear, efficient mannerExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentCapability to work well with commercial clients while adding a creative look to commercial spotsFamiliarity with news automationTeam player mentalityAbility to perform constant viewing of multiple video and computer monitorsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsWHERE YOU'LL LIVE, WORK AND PLAY:West Palm Beach, Florida offers an enviable lifestyle with year-round sunshine and beautiful beaches along the Atlantic coast.
