Adams & Martin Group is seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney in St. Louis, MO. Ideal candidates will have experience managing and resolving personal injury, employment, or other civil claims before they proceed to litigation. This role focuses on case evaluation, client communication, negotiation, and settlement. The attorney will work closely with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties to achieve favorable outcomes efficiently and ethically.

Compensation will vary upon experience

  • Entry: $75,000 - $95,000
  • Mid: $100,000 - $130,000
  • Senior: $140,000++++

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new cases for merit, liability, and damages.
  • Guide clients through the pre-litigation process, ensuring they understand their rights and case progress.
  • Oversee and coordinate investigation, evidence gathering, and medical treatment documentation.
  • Draft demand letters and settlement proposals.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies or opposing counsel.
  • Recommend settlement strategies and case valuation based on facts and applicable law.
  • Maintain accurate case files and client records.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and firm policies.
  • Prepare cases for transition to litigation when settlement is not possible.
  • Work closely with case managers, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to maintain trust and satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to intake or support teams regarding case quality.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the Missouri Bar
  • 1-3 years of experience in personal injury, insurance defense, or civil litigation
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with settlement software and case management systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
  • Client-focused with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines.
