Position description

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Otolaryngology ) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body, and seeks fellowship trained otolaryngologists with expertise in the area of neurotology and skull base surgery.

The positions include responsibilities in clinical care, teaching, and research, with opportunities to contribute to advancing patient care and education in the field.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Additional information can be found here:

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree.

Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Otolaryngology and Neurotology.

Candidates must have successfully completed a RRC-approved fellowship in Neurotology/skull base surgery.

Candidates must either be eligible for, or have already obtained, the Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Neurotology.

Candidates must have, or be eligible for, a California medical license or an equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with a demonstrated excellence in the clinical care of patients, a well-developed area of scientific investigation, an excellent track record of publications, and training in all three approaches to the lateral skull base, are preferred.
