Maintenance Director

Location: Lakeview Cheese Products, LLC – Las Vegas, NV

Schedule: Varies based on business needs (coverage of all three shifts)

Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience

About the Role

Lakeview Cheese Products is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead our Maintenance Department and keep our facility running at peak efficiency. This hands-on leadership role oversees the strategic direction, daily operations, and team development for all maintenance functions to support a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

The Maintenance Director will develop and execute preventive maintenance programs, manage capital projects, ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and maximize production performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Direct and manage all maintenance operations, including work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Oversee capital projects, equipment upgrades, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, building, equipment, safety, and food production regulations.
  • Collaborate with Production, QA, Sanitation, and other departments to meet operational goals.
  • Manage departmental budgets (labor, repairs, and capital expenditures) and report on KPIs and downtime metrics.
  • Develop SOPs, safety protocols, and documentation to support compliance and operational excellence.
  • Provide hands-on support and be available for occasional evening/weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Experience in food manufacturing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive maintenance experience in manufacturing, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, freon refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and food safety regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate production areas and perform or direct maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Prolonged periods working at a desk and computer.
