Primary Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be an essential part of the maintenance team, ensuring that the property's mechanical systems and residential units are maintained to the highest standards. You'll perform a variety of repairs, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance maintenance. With your technical expertise and attention to detail, you will help create a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for residents. Your ability to manage daily tasks, troubleshoot issues, and complete service requests efficiently will contribute to the overall success of the community.
As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibilities include:
- Perform general maintenance repairs in areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances.
- Respond to and resolve service requests from residents in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks to ensure systems are functioning at optimal levels.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions, diagnosing issues and providing effective solutions.
- Assist in apartment turnover processes by ensuring units are ready for new residents, including repairs, touch-ups, and inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, keeping maintenance areas, tools, and equipment in top condition.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritize and complete daily maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and building codes, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform general building inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
- Work with vendors for more specialized repairs or services, ensuring quality work within budget.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
- Assist in special projects as needed.
- Being available to work weekends and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Assist in maintaining the community's curb appeal by performing tasks such as litter removal, landscaping upkeep, and ensuring the exterior of the property is well-maintained.
What you bring to the role:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in multifamily property maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, while maintaining a high level of quality in all tasks.
- Experience in residential repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly assess and address maintenance issues.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards to minimize liability and ensure the property remains in top condition.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. Valid driver's license and insurance are required.
- Proficiency with property management software, apps, and general computer programs.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
- A polished, professional appearance with the ability to represent the brand with pride.
- Willingness to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
