Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

What will you be doing?
Barclays Services Corp. seeks Software Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
Design, develop and improve technical solutions to address requirements by the Electronic Trading team, utilizing various engineering methodologies.
Hands on development and design of the electronic trading application.
Interact with the testing team to ensure adequate tests are in place for deliverables under development.
Participate in code reviews to ensure implemented functionality matches expectations and is in line with coding standards defined globally.
Provide effective support for global applications.
Interact with business managers, users and external vendors to coordinate deliveries.
Create and present periodic reports to senior IT management globally.
Coordinate with the global Repo IT team for design and development of the trading platform.
Participate in decisions to build sustainable and feasible solution which adheres to the defined standards.
May telecommute.
Minimum Salary: $135,000 per year
Maximum Salary: $175,000 per year
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
