About Us:

Paw Island is Laguna Beach's coastal-inspired pet lifestyle boutique — where dogs can learn, play, and socialize in a safe, supervised, and fun environment. Our Socializing Training Sessions are designed to help dogs build confidence, practice good manners, and enjoy structured play with others under professional supervision.

About the Role:

We're looking for a caring, reliable, and upbeat team member to join our growing Socializing Training program This role involves assisting with group training sessions, monitoring dog interactions, maintaining a clean and positive environment, and communicating with pet parents about their dog's day.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in running small-group "socializing training" sessions (10–15 dogs per trainer).
  • Supervise dogs during play and enrichment time to ensure safety and positive behavior.
  • Observe body language, redirect unwanted behavior, and support structured training exercises.
  • Keep the play and training areas clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Communicate daily notes or report cards to pet parents about progress and temperament.
  • Follow all safety, vaccination, and wellness protocols.

Requirements:

  • Must love dogs and feel comfortable handling multiple dogs of various breeds under 30lbs.
  • Previous experience in dog care, training, or daycare is a plus (but not required — we'll train the right person).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (9am–3pm).
