Business Development Manager, Agriculture:
- Drive sales growth by working with our sales teams to strategically targeting un-penetrated and minimally penetrated customers in the agriculture industry.
- Work with regional leadership, sales management and chemical distribution sales team to create focused approach to expanding share of wallet and adding net new customers.
- The focus is on development and execution of Agriculture strategic growth plan to drive acquisition of new customers that represent significant sales growth potential.
- Additionally training of sales team on the industry to allow them to identify, quantify and capture the new business opportunities.
What You'll Do:
- Develop Agriculture business plan: Consistently updated with new learning. Work with sales team to identify and qualify prospects.
- Quantify opportunities: Competitors, products, volumes, price etc. while working with local support teams.
- Define and communicate key success metrics: Pipeline, prospects, net new business, expanded share of wallet, addition of products for agriculture industry.
- Work with key vendors and internal product managers for the successful promotion and placement of materials.
- Make joint calls in support of localized sales teams.
- Be the point person for various national agricultural industry shows, conventions, and events.
- Financial responsibility: Understanding of working capital and ROI.
- Supervisory responsibility: Direct management of leadership of Agricultural Application Development Specialist. Collaborative, indirect leadership of Sales Account Managers engaged with agriculture customers and/or prospecting in this industry.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven expereince in Agriculture Chemicals Sales.
- Broad knowledge of chemical distribution business and its functions.
- In-depth knowledge of agriculture formulation industry, planting/harvesting cycle.
- Technical understanding of plant nutrition, seed development, and crop protection.
