Aluma-Line is seeking entry-level and experienced construction laborers to join our team for the installation of awnings, canopies, and shade structures. This is a hands-on role, involves working outdoors, using tools and equipment to assemble and install custom structures at residential, commercial, and water/waster water sites.
Responsibilities:
- Install awnings, canopies, and related structures according to specifications.
- Handle and install prefabricated finished products with care to ensure a high-quality
final product.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble metal frames and secure coverings.
- Measure and mark installation points accurately.
- Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, and lift equipment.
- Follow strict job site safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Travel to various job sites as needed.
- Help ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly.
Adhere to project specifications and quality standards.
Follow company policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, and project reviews
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, metalwork, or awning installation is a plus.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to lift 50–75+ lbs and work at heights.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Regular, timely attendance is required.
- Basic knowledge of tools and safety procedures.
- Basic math skills.
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if needed.
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- First Aid certification is a plus.
- Reach-fork or aerial lift certifications are a plus.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug tests.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position requires working on construction sites in extreme temperatures. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and use hand tools associated with the construction industry. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods, climb on and off equipment, walk, kneel, bend, reach with hands and arm, hear well, and communicate.
