Position: Food Service Assistant I
Location: Christiana Hospital – Newark Campus
Schedule: Casual (8–10 hours/week minimum)
Shifts: Rotating – 6:45AM–3:15PM, 10:00AM–6:30PM, 11:00AM–7:30PM, 3:15PM–9:15PM
 

Must be available to work a combination of all shifts listed above

About the Role

As a Food Service Assistant I, you'll play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals and warm service to our patients. From assembling trays to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, your work will directly support healing and comfort.

What You'll Do
  • Assemble patient meal trays with accuracy and care
  • Prepare trays for modified diets and understand dietary restrictions
  • Operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and follow infection prevention protocols
  • Demonstrate ChristianaCare's core values in every interaction

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
