Community Engagement Specialist II

ATA Services is currently seeking to hire Community Engagement Specialists to work on a temporary position.
- Pay Rate:$72 per hour with weekly pay
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration of assignment: June 2026
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Work location: Remote
Scope of Work:
- Participate in community outreach, engagement, and assessment activities organized by the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), community partners, and Health Councils. Document the entire process to evaluate its effectiveness and maintain institutional knowledge.
- Analyze the collected observations, notes, and interviews to identify effective practices, barriers, and areas for improvement. Synthesize the findings to help inform the development of a framework. Utilize interviews, focus groups, and other qualitative methods to evaluate the perceived impact of Health Council-led engagement and health assessment activities on community well-being.
- Create a process map and narrative that illustrates how community health assessments are currently planned, implemented, and evaluated across different regions.
- Develop a structured and replicable framework that outlines the roles, responsibilities, and steps necessary to conduct community health assessments in collaboration with Health Councils.
- Compile 3–5 in-depth case studies that showcase diverse approaches to community engagement and assessment, emphasizing their impact, innovation, and the voices of the community.
Education and experience
- A bachelor's degree in a related field - communications, public relations, social work, or business administration.
- Previous experience in community engagement, outreach, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management.
- Proficiency with common software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using social media platforms for outreach and engagement.
