Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and financial management. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and managing the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and SOX regulations while preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Manage cash flow and perform cash management activities to optimize liquidity.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation to maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure adherence to all governmental accounting standards.
  • Lead budgeting processes and forecasting efforts to support strategic planning.
  • Perform financial analysis and account analysis to identify trends and variances.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation for public accounting requirements.
  • Maintain technical accounting knowledge to address complex financial issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in non-profit accounting or governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, double entry bookkeeping, and corporate accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in financial report writing and general ledger reconciliation is essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail for accurate account analysis.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and cash management strategies.
  • Experience with various financial software applications; proficiency in NETSUITE ,QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
