Job Summary

As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in your care. You will provide compassionate support and assistance to clients in various settings, including homes, group homes, and assisted living facilities. Your dedication will ensure that each individual receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs, promoting their independence and well-being.

What you'll do

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition to ensure proper care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the social well-being of clients.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans to meet individual health needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness in living spaces by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, especially for those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement effective care strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing or social work is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques to ensure client safety.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings.
  • Skills in patient observation and monitoring for changes in health status.
  • Background working with individuals with disabilities or memory care experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
