Summary
SVA is hiring two Development Associates to help advance our mission by supporting a best-in-class fundraising program. These team members will play an essential role in donor stewardship, data integrity, proposal coordination, and partner engagement. The ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a genuine passion for building relationships that create measurable impact.
Successful candidates take pride in maintaining accurate records, crafting thoughtful communications, and helping donors clearly see the difference their support makes.
Responsibilities
- Support personalized stewardship, including drafting acknowledgments, coordinating impact reports, and tracking donor recognition across channels.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals, reports, and other donor communications, ensuring all materials reflect SVA's mission and measurable impact.
- Coordinate logistics for donor meetings, partner events, and engagements to enhance the donor experience.
- Manage and maintain accurate donor and prospect information in Salesforce, ensuring data is current, organized, and actionable.
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and shared development resources to ensure smooth team coordination and follow-up.
- Conduct research on prospective funders and partners to inform outreach strategies and strengthen donor cultivation.
- Contribute to the refinement of development systems and processes that enhance efficiency and donor satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of gratitude, collaboration, and continuous learning within the development team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in fundraising, philanthropy, donor relations, or corporate social responsibility.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems strongly preferred.
- Strong writing, organization, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of relationship-based fundraising principles and the donor lifecycle.
- Commitment to SVA's mission and values; veterans and military family members are strongly encouraged to apply.
Work Environment and Benefits
This is a remote position, with occasional travel, allowing team members to contribute meaningfully from anywhere while supporting SVA's nationwide mission. Some evening or weekend support for events may be required.
