The Data Standardization Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and usability of company data from multiple sources. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of master data records within the company's central database. The Analyst reviews, cleans, and normalizes product data from incoming files to ensure alignment with company standards and business requirements. The role involves mapping distributor product data to manufacturer items, standardizing attributes such as product descriptions, brands, categories, and codes, and ensuring all data conforms to the company's data governance policies. This function is critical to accurate reporting, rebate billing, and rewards calculations, as well as the ongoing reliability of the company's analytics and operational systems.

This role is based out of our New London, CT office. (Will consider remote - Local preferred) We are unable to offer sponsorship for work authorization for this role. 

Your Impact: 

  • Maintain and update master data records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.  
  • Review, clean, and normalize data from a variety of sources - including distributor feeds, manufacturer files, and internal systems - to ensure uniform formatting and structure.
  • Recognize and correct data discrepancies or pattern inconsistencies to prevent errors from entering the company's master database.  
  • Standardize incoming data for end-user reporting and business analysis.  
  • Map distributor product data to manufacturer products based on product history, manufacturer knowledge, and external resources (e.g., catalogs, websites).  
  • Verify and update product attributes - including brand, category, and manufacturer information—based on available and validated data sources.  
  • Conduct routine data audits and contribute to continuous improvement efforts for data accuracy, automation, and process efficiency. 
  • Support the development and enforcement of data governance standards and best practices.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality, streamline workflows, and document data management procedures. 
  • Participate in database cleaning and normalization projects as assigned.  
  • Assist in testing and providing feedback on evolving data management tools and   
    automation technologies.  

About You:

  • College degree preferred 
  • 1-3 years of work experience 
  • Food Industry and/or master data management experience preferred
  • Comfortable with evolving technology
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to quickly shift priorities as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
