Position Summary

Reporting to The Division Director, the Program Manager supervises departmental staff in day-to-day activities

Program Management

  • Manage a caseload of housed clients.
  • Supervise housing specialists at Bronx and Brooklyn Sites.
  • Conduct a regular schedule of staff meetings in each program to ensure the timely sharing of information regarding clients, policy changes, events and all matters pertinent to the daily operations of the programs.  Provide a written agenda and meeting minutes for all staff meetings.
  • Develop and implement all applicable safety standards.
  • Maintain relationships with landlords and his/her designee.
  • Interview perspective clients for admission.
  • Participate as a member of the agency's management team.  
  • Provide support and assistance to other members of the team as needed.
  • Develop and implement all applicable safety standards.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
  • On-call responsibilities, if applicable to program type.
  • Teach and model the principles and practices of recovery and self-help.
  • Follow procedure for medical and or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Work cooperatively with all internal and external entities.

Personnel Management

  • Ensure adequate staffing schedule.
  • Provide regular performance evaluations for supervisees and assist them with expanding and enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Review and approve weekly request for time off and submit to Division Director for review.
  • Monitor staff attendance and respond to trends and or problems.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and supervision for housing specialists.
  • Provide on-going in-service training and coordinate additional training, consistent with agency priorities and mission, and within budgetary guidelines and restrictions.

Quality Assurance 

  • Ensure that all programs meet the pertinent standards established by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
  • Ensure that all program policies, procedures and practices established by Baltic Street Wellness Solutions are followed.
  • Ensure the administrative, program and client records are maintained in a timely, complete, and organized manner, consistent with all applicable policies, Solicit feedback monitor customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Review and investigate incident reports and submit to Division Director.
  • Solicit feedback monitor customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits of all records.
  • Respond to grievances according to agency policy.
  • Implement processes and practices that support continuous quality improvement.
  • Produce Quarterly/ Monthly reports

Community Relations 

  • Maintain collaborative interagency relationships
  • Assist with public and community relations.
  • Conduct training and presentations to other organizations to promote the reputation of Baltic Street Wellness Solutions, and to enhance the knowledge in the field.

Other Duties 

  • Participate in training sessions designed to enhance growth and skill development.
  • Maintain and protect the confidential nature of all matter related to this position.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the agency or Division Director.
  • Manage CAIRS data base.
  • Foothold Awards Database to track and monitor housing services rendered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least two years' experience in a mental health setting or a human services setting.
  • Knowledge of government entitlement programs 
  • New York State Certified Peer Specialists certification (Active) - or must be Re-certified within 5 months of hiring
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is a must
  • Experience working with individuals that receive behavioral health services. 
  • The ability to work as an effective team member is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, and internet navigation
  • Bilingual a plus but not required
  • Driver's License a plus but not required

Selected candidates must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and have received a booster shot. Baltic Street Wellness Solutions will require selected candidates to submit proof of complete vaccination against COVID-19 and having received a booster shot prior to extending a job offer. If a candidate has a qualifying medical condition or religious exemption that contraindicates a COVID-19 vaccination, an exemption form should be requested from Human Resources.
