Bridge Tower Homes is a Texas-based residential homebuilder with operations throughout the Sunbelt. BT Homes builds single-family detached homes, townhomes, and duplexes in urban core infill and suburban locations. BT Home's expertise includes acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, and new home sales for Build-For-Sale and Build-For-Rent clients. Bridge Tower constructs and delivers new homes a year.

We are seeking a Director of Construction who will be based in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, be responsible, independent and take ownership of their work. This candidate must also be able to collaborate well on a team that will support construction across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the construction process and project managers to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Direct implementation and execution of construction, warranty policies.
  • Participate in all aspects of the development, pre-construction, and construction phases of all communitie
  • Oversees the development of construction, service, warranty, and purchasing meetings, training sessions, and seminars designed to enhance productivity, quality controls, and cost management.
  • Ensure the various construction operations are secure and maintain all required and necessary licensing, permits, and insurance.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and guidance in construction procedures, building codes, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and safety practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring management team members comply with standards, rules, and regulations issued by OSHA/Safety standards.
  • Establish and maintain operating procedures designed to provide guidelines and safety standards to all construction team members.
  • Develop complete bid packages including project estimates, bid schedules and proposals.
  • Assist in negotiation of subcontractor agreement and vendor supply pricing.
  • Collaborate and serve as liaison with local and state government officials as required.
  • Acts as a liaison between construction and leasing teams to coordinate resident care initiatives.
  • Analyze monthly reports including budget reserves, overages, expenses and write-offs for each new home contract.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
  • Act as a positive leader and team player with the ability to foster good working relationships at every level of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and develop a quality team capable of carrying out needed construction and warranty initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.

  • Thorough knowledge of the project approval and permitting process.
  • Strong design orientation with the ability to maintain design intent throughout the development process to the finished project.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors' degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business administration, construction, or related field combined with at least 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of management practices and leadership skills in order to manage daily operational activities; knowledge of residential home building industry with appropriate construction and project management experience required.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

  • Travel to various home construction sites weekly. Must have an acceptable driving record, possession of a valid driver's license and auto insurance to comply with Company Auto policies.
  • Ability to safely navigate the various construction sites in all stages of construction. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Some travel with occasional over night trips required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130, $170,000.00 per year
