Inspired Instruction is hiring an Math and/or ELA Education Expert Facilitator & Content Contributor in Chicago, IL in a part-time hybrid role. We are seeking a highly motivated professional who can combine their passion and experience for education (K-12) and content creation (instructional design) skills in this hybrid position.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Math Expert Facilitator: 2 days per month, $650 per diem rate
  • ELA Expert Facilitator: 2 days per month, $650 per diem rate
  • Content Contributor: 8-10 hours per month, $40 per hour
  • Due to the high-quality delivery of our services, we are unable to consider candidates currently working a full-time (M-F, 8am-5pm) work schedule.

About the Position:

This multifaceted role requires a versatile professional who can serve in a dual capacity to meet both client and company standards, as outlined below. Based upon a professional's qualifications, this position will assume responsibilities in Math (Secondary) or ELA ( Elementary or Secondary) AND Content (Instructional Design).

The Expert Facilitator (Professional Development Specialist, internal title) is a per diem position with an expectation to work a minimum of two (2) days per month either in the field or from employee's home office.

  • The Math Expert Facilitator offers a $650 per diem rate, along with mileage and toll reimbursement when applicable.
  • The ELA Expert Facilitator offers a $600 per diem rate, along with mileage and toll reimbursement when applicable.
  • Travel Requirement: Either position may involve travel to client sites within a driving distance of up to 180 miles one -way, including locations much closer to the employee's residence. Company-reimbursed mileage applies once a work engagement exceeds 60 miles from the employee's home. Occasional overnight travel may be required, with company-paid hotel accommodations provided as needed.

The Content Contributor includes hourly compensation of $40.00 for approximately 8-10 hours of work per month from employee's home office. The work schedule is flexible and may be determined at the employee's discretion.

Expert Facilitator Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with schools to build teacher and administrative capacity through evidence- based coaching, curriculum, and professional development
  • Develop positive working relationships with a diverse group of teachers and administrators through large group sessions as well as individualized side-by-side support
  • Evaluate data and conduct in-class visits to assess and communicate professional learning plans that strengthen academic performance, school culture and climate
  • Support schools in strengthening pedagogy and implementing instructional planning to ensure effective teaching in classrooms
  • Lead schools in reviewing, developing, organizing and implementing rigorous standards-aligned curriculum

Content Contributor Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research state standards and stay up-to-date with current education trends relevant to states of focus.
  • Develop, write, and edit high-quality content, including video, for various platforms such as blogs, social media, and our website.
  • Create state-specific content that is relevant and practical for K-12 education administrators.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to align content with overall company strategies
  • Conduct research to ensure content is accurate, current, and relevant to the needs of K-12 education administrators in states of focus.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of full-time K-12 classroom teaching experience in middle and/or high school with proven experience in Math instruction (secondary), with high concentration in Science and/or Special Education
  • Minimum 8 years of full-time K-12 classroom teaching experience preferably in upper elementary, middle or high school (grades 5-12) with proven experience in ELA instruction, with high concentration in supporting Multilingual Learners and/or Special Education
  • Experience in administrative and/or principal roles is highly valued but does not count toward the classroom teaching minimum.
  • Certifications in one of the following areas: Elementary Education, ELA and/or Special Education, Secondary Math or the equivalent
  • Available to work a minimum of 2 to 4 days per month
  • Must be willing to travel by personal transportation up to 180-mile radius one-way from residence for scheduled in-person engagements
  • Requires use of personal technology equipment (laptop computer, mobile device, and working camera) to be used during on-site workshop facilitation at client locations
  • Strong working knowledge of the State Standards
  • High level of competence in facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability using Google Classroom and Workspace tools, Zoom, and other education-related technology tools
  • Reliable, high-speed internet to participate in ongoing professional growth
  • Current or expired teaching and/or administration certification copies
  • Not engaged in or pursuing full-time employment (M-F, 8am-5pm)
  • Successfully pass pre-employment background check

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' of teacher leadership experience: Supervisor, Coach, Master Teacher, Lead Teacher, etc.
  • Virtual Teaching and Learning experience
  • Professional Development experience (design, implementation, facilitation and leading)
