Job Overview:

CapCenter is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Staff Accountant is responsible for all accounting functions and various analyses relating to CapCenter entities, including Accounts Receivable. The role also accounts for financial transactions through timely and accurate completion of general ledger entries and review. Given interaction with other departments and staff at all levels, the individual must be an effective communicator, organized and experienced in working with regular deadlines. Strong computer skills, including Excel, is a must. Individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy learning, and will do whatever it takes to achieve the high level of excellence expected in the Accounting Department will love this job

Qualifications:

The Staff Accountant must have solid knowledge of GAAP in addition to the following:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax

CPA preferred or in progress

2-3 years of public accounting and/or industry experience preferred

Proven professionalism, ethics, and character

Ability to deal with sensitive/confidential information

Thrives in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment

Strong Microsoft Office - especially Excel skills along with ERP systems

Competitive drive for constant improvement, team player, self-starter

Responsibilities:

Clients Come First. All decisions at CapCenter are centered around the clients benefit. Staff Accountants prepare, research, and reconcile daily activity into and out of various balance sheets, settlement, and escrow accounts. They work accurately and efficiently to ensure good stewardship of CapCenter entities and client funds.

Innovation Never Stops. People, process, and system innovations are ongoing. Staff Accountants complete monthly and year-end closing procedures and perform various analyses on additional balance sheet and income statement accounts. They are expected to be inquisitive, forward-thinking, and actively involved in process improvements.

Excellence is a Team Sport. Be a play-maker. Staff Accountants review daily cash balancing of cash and loan balances, prepare monthly account reconciliations, and interact with other departments to resolve issues. They collaborate closely with Senior Accountants to understand accounting policies, procedures, and systems and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and financial reports.

Staff Accountants participate in various audits to include external annual audit of Financial Statements, RESA (Real Estate Settlement Agents) and others while assisting in the implementation of internal control procedures within the Accounting Department to ensure compliance.
