Join a company where caring, creativity, and character make all the difference.

Who We Are

For more than 35 years, Cornerstone Companies, Inc. (Cornerstone) has been a leader in healthcare real estate, helping physicians, hospitals, and investors across the nation develop, build, lease, and manage medical office facilities. We manage more than 200 properties across 22 states, totaling 10 million square feet — and we're continuing to grow right here in Fort Wayne, Indiana

At Cornerstone, our values drive everything we do:

  • Caring – Build personal relationships with our team and clients.
  • Creative – Develop solutions with lasting value.
  • Character – Manage partnerships with integrity and respect.
Principal Objective of the Position

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring that our medical office buildings are safe, efficient, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors. You'll help keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly by performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on building systems and infrastructure — directly supporting high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

  • What You'll Do

In this role, you'll take ownership of your facilities and be hands-on in keeping them in top condition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing basic maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, repairing doors, restroom fixtures, and lighting.
  • Conducting minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and more).
  • Running weekly and monthly generator load transfers and assisting with fire system impairments for testing and construction.
  • Responding to comfort calls and addressing environmental or mechanical issues promptly.
  • Ensuring safety and regulatory compliance through inspections and repairs.
  • Coordinating with vendors and contractors for specialized work.
  • Maintaining organized and clean mechanical rooms, shops, and storage spaces.
  • Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities and facility inspections.

You'll also assist with special projects like furniture moves, renovations, and after-hours or emergency support when needed.

Who You Are

We're looking for a reliable, self-motivated professional with strong troubleshooting skills and pride in your work. You should have:

  • Experience in commercial property or facility maintenance, ideally in healthcare or medical settings.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
  • A proactive mindset — you see what needs to be done and make it happen.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to maintain professionalism and integrity in every interaction.
Why You'll Love Working at Cornerstone

When you join Cornerstone, you're not just maintaining buildings — you're helping create the environments where healthcare happens. We offer:

  • A supportive, team-oriented culture that values your contributions.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and expand your technical expertise.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in your community every single day.
