Position Overview

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials within the warehouse or production facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and on-time order fulfillment while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and move products, materials, or equipment.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Receive, store, and organize inventory in designated warehouse areas.
  • Accurately pick, stage, and prepare materials for production and outbound shipments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by verifying quantities and inspecting materials for damage or defects.
  • Assist in conducting physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  • Support order fulfillment activities including wrapping, labeling, and preparing pallets for shipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse team members, drivers, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain through company training).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Basic computer or scanner proficiency (experience with inventory systems preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely in a busy warehouse setting.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, and warehouse environments.
