Role Description

This is a remote contract opportunity for a paid Film Consultant for a feature film. In this role, you will manage end-to-end video production projects including concept development, filming, editing, and post-production in conjunction with the Director and Executive Producers.

The consultant provides expert guidance to strengthen story, visual execution, performance, and overall cinematic coherence while ensuring the project aligns with professional industry standards and audience expectations.

This is an advisory role and does not include direct management or decision-making authority unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Video Production, Video Editing, and related multimedia skills
  • Experience with creating and implementing Marketing and Social Media strategies
  • Knowledge of multimedia editing software and a strong creative vision
  • Ability to collaborate in a remote environment and meet project deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Background in digital marketing or content creation is an advantage
  • Experience working in industries such as finance, insurance, health, wellness, or eCommerce is a plus but not required

Position Overview:

The Film Consultant serves as a senior creative and strategic advisor for a narrative feature film, supporting the Director and Producers throughout development, production, and/or post-production. The consultant provides expert guidance to strengthen story, visual execution, performance, and overall cinematic coherence while ensuring the project aligns with professional industry standards and audience expectations.

This is an advisory role and does not include direct management or decision-making authority unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Time Commitment:

  • Defined by project phase (Development, Production, Post-Production)
  • Flexible consultation schedule as agreed by the parties

Compensation:

  • Negotiable; may include flat fee, weekly rate, deferred compensation, backend participation, or combination thereof.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the Producer(s) and/or Director

Credit:

  • Screen credit as
    "Film Consultant"
    , subject to contractual agreement
