Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller and is responsible for providing support to the organization and its affiliated offices in the US and internationally as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and post customer invoices and cash receipts.
  • Prepare company month end reports.
  • Prepare weekly reports.
  • Perform bank account reconciliations.
  • Record and manage corporate fixed assets, ensuring accurate depreciation and asset tracking.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and reconciliation of supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month end and year-end close activities.
  • Help procurement department with historical prices and trending analysis.
  • Prepare and manage accounting schedules.
  • Prepare and file 1099s.
  • Calculate and file state sales tax.
  • Calculate sales commission.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements/automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the reporting process.
  • Assist with audit preparation and financial reports.
  • Back up to other accounting team members as needed.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes.
  • Other duties and projects as needed.

Skills And Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or similar field is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the accounting field
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, Word and Excel
  • Bilingual – English / Spanish
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Confidentiality
  • Strong work ethics, hardworking, fast learner
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to multitask
