Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong understanding of construction site operations. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Structural Welder will be responsible for ensuring that all welding tasks meet industry standards and project specifications.

Duties

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding on various materials including sheet metal and ductwork
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate and assemble metal structures
  • Conduct pipe threading and rigging as needed for specific projects
  • Operate cranes and forklifts safely to move materials around the construction site
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols
  • Inspect completed welds for quality assurance in compliance with ASME codes & standards
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction site environments
  • Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, and plasma cutting techniques
  • Familiarity with mechanical knowledge, basic math skills, and fabrication processes
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools accurately
  • Experience with machining, soldering, assembly processes, and operating press brake machines
  • Strong understanding of rigging principles and safety practices related to welding operations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
