Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. This position requires a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures to ensure efficient operations and excellent patient experiences.

Duties

  • Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Record and update patient information, including vitals and medical history
  • Assist the podiatrist during procedures and wound care
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies
  • Clean and sterilize podiatry instruments
  • Take and develop digital X-rays following safety protocols
  • Perform basic lab work and assist with specimen handling
  • Apply and remove dressings, pads, and splints as directed
  • Cross-train and assist with front desk duties, including scheduling, check-in/out, and phone support
  • Complete any additional duties assigned by the Office Manager to support clinic operations
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA standards
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude with patients and team members

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • X-ray certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Prior experience in podiatry, orthopedics, or wound care preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
