Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Human Resources serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to regional and school leadership. This role drives organizational effectiveness, cultivates an inclusive and high-performing culture, and proactively anticipates workforce needs to ensure Rocketship remains an exceptional place to work and grow.
Operating with moderate to high autonomy, the Senior Manager balances execution and partnership, implementing people programs that strengthen leadership capacity, improve the employee experience, and support compliance across all levels of the organization.
This position reports directly to the Regional Executive Director and maintains a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director of Human Resources. This dual-reporting structure ensures this role is deeply embedded in regional priorities while staying aligned with national HR strategy, compliance, and culture. The role serves as a critical liaison between school/regional leadership and the broader People Team, helping to drive strategic initiatives, talent alignment, and operational excellence.

People Partnership & Leadership Support
- Partner with regional and school leaders to execute people initiatives that promote engagement, retention, and strong performance.
- Collaborate with the recruiting team weekly to review hiring progress, share updates, and ensure staffing goals are met across all schools.
- Support leaders in interpreting and applying HR policies with fairness, consistency, and sound judgment.
- Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, feedback conversations, and basic employee relations issues.
- Manage routine employee relations matters, escalating complex cases to the Associate Director or Legal as appropriate.
- Ensure HR decisions align with organizational values and applicable laws.
- Partner with Talent Operations and Legal to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records, tracking, and documentation.
- Support the rollout of engagement surveys, action planning, and culture-building initiatives.
- Use data and feedback to help identify themes and partner with leaders on action plans.
- Promote open communication, inclusivity, and professional accountability within schools and regions.
- Implement HR processes and systems that improve efficiency and data accuracy.
- Partner with the Talent, Program, and Operations teams to streamline onboarding, leaves, and Talent workflows.
- Use data to monitor HR trends and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Build deep, trust-based partnerships across executive, school, and support teams to influence without authority.
- Foster strong collaboration with Talent, Program, and other cross-functional partners to align systems and practices.
- Act as a cultural leader who models open communication, inclusivity, and professional accountability.
- Maintains key partnerships with the Recruitment team and extern
- Helps leaders and staff strengthen their performance and engagement.
- Bachelor's degree required; HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including HRBP or People Operations experience in a multi-site organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver consistent, high-quality HR support.
- Solid understanding of employment law, compliance, and performance management best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- This role is primarily remote, but will require consistent travel to schools based on needs.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
- Requires independent transportation to schools.
