This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective on July 1, 2026.

JOB DUTIES:

Looking to build experience in public service? Join the Employment Standards Division as a Temporary Compliance Technician. In this one-year role, you'll help ensure businesses meet workers' compensation requirements through research, evaluation, and clear communication. The Temporary Compliance Technician is a 1-year temporary position within our Workers' Compensation Compliance section in our Employment Standard Division. 

As a Temporary Compliance Technician, you will:

  • Conduct searches to find information in databases, the internet, etc.
  • Evaluate compliance of businesses regarding workers' compensation requirements
  • Prepare written communication to businesses and individuals regarding compliance
  • Determine the type of action needed or not needed to be taken
  • Enter accurate information into a database

  • Ability to gain knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and policies applicable to the position.
  • Candidates must be able to manage their work schedules with minimal oversight and meet deadlines consistently.
  • The successful candidate must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Candidates must also be adaptable to changing circumstances and maintain a logical approach to problem-solving

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through experience, formal education (including certificates, credentials, or degree-based programs), or a combination of both. Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
