Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your primary responsibilities will include managing cash registers, assisting customers with their inquiries, and promoting products through effective upselling techniques. A strong focus on customer satisfaction and a positive attitude are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide assistance throughout their shopping experience.
  • Accurately process transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to enhance the customer experience.
  • Engage in product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits.
  • Upsell products to increase sales while ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain store standards.
  • Assist in inventory management by restocking shelves and conducting product counts as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience in retail sales or a grocery store environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic math skills are essential for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus to assist in understanding sales metrics.
  • Experience with supervising or training new staff members is beneficial for team dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members alike.
  • A proactive approach to upselling and promoting products to enhance customer satisfaction.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour
