Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety while leading a team of culinary professionals.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Coordinate catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals.
- Train new kitchen staff on techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours, managing shift schedules and delegating tasks effectively.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong background in fine dining, catering, or banquet service is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management and shift management.
- Proficiency in food handling, preparation techniques, and culinary arts.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and food service management practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
