Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Contract Type: Travel / Temporary Assignment

Location: Saginaw, MI

Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day or Night depending on facility need)

Schedule: Every Other Weekend

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Standard travel contract

Unit Overview

The Progressive Care Unit provides intermediate-level, high-acuity care for medically complex patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced nursing assessment. Nurses function with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage high-acuity patients requiring frequent assessments
  • Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, telemetry, and vital trends
  • Administer IV medications, manage drips, and perform advanced nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary teams
  • Provide patient and family education for ongoing care and discharge planning
  • Document care and assessments in EMR in accordance with facility policy

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have the following:

  • Active RN License (State of MI or compact eligible if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years recent PCU / Stepdown experience
  • Telemetry/ECG interpretation competency
  • CPR/BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS certification

Preferred Experience

(Not required, but beneficial)

  • EPIC or Cerner EMR experience
  • Vent/bi-pap management
  • Drip titration experience under RN-driven protocols
