Job Summary

River Street Hospitality is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender/Server to join our dynamic team at Desposito's Seafood in Thunderbolt. As a member of our front-of-house staff, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, delivering exceptional service, and ensuring every guest has a memorable dining experience by the water. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Service: Greet guests warmly, take accurate food and beverage orders, and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit.
  • Bartending: Prepare, mix, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following house recipes and standards. Maintain proper portioning and presentation.
  • Sales & Upselling: Recommend menu items, daily specials, and drink pairings to enhance guest experiences and increase sales.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with other servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Restaurant Knowledge: Maintain strong familiarity with the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and any specials.
  • Cleanliness & Safety: Keep the bar, tables, and work areas clean, organized, and stocked. Follow all sanitation, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately handle payments, operate the POS system, and balance checks at the end of shifts.
  • Guest Relations: Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally, ensuring a positive outcome.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bartender or server in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktails; ability to learn house recipes.
  • Ability to lift trays up to 25 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and work nights/weekends/holidays.
  • Outgoing, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
