Job Overview

As the Store Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation at our Austin retail store. You will be the key person in driving sales, managing team performance, and delivering an immersive shopping experience to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a solid understanding of retail sales, inventory control, and team leadership. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a busy retail environment, implement effective merchandising strategies, and foster a positive shopping experience for customers. The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for ensuring the store meets its sales goals while maintaining operational excellence.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, purchasing, and merchandising strategies
  • Oversee sales management activities, including setting sales targets and monitoring performance
  • Handle cashiering duties such as cash handling, POS transactions, and balancing registers
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees; conduct employee orientation and training & development programs
  • Develop staff schedules to ensure optimal shift coverage and manage shift management responsibilities
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly
  • Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and communicate store policies effectively
  • Apply organizational skills to ensure the store remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Collaborate with HQ on marketing promotional store events or special offers that attract new customers

Qualifications

  • Proven management experience in retail environments; assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity or passion for anime, blind box brands (e.g. Pop Mart, Sonny Angel, 52TOYS), and Asian beauty is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Proficiency in retail math, POS systems, inventory management software, and cash handling procedures
  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, and retail sales techniques
  • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and inventory control
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in store presentation and operations
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency
