Mental Health Counselor - Outpatient Program
Location: State College, PA
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Position Summary
The Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical services in accordance with Pyramid Healthcare's standards and clinical philosophy. This position supports the delivery of quality mental health care through direct client engagement, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs of clients and families.
- Develop and monitor individualized treatment goals in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Facilitate clinical services including individual therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical services in the electronic client record.
- Provide documentation and support for utilization review and participate in the UR process.
- Contribute to aftercare planning and discharge processes as applicable.
- Assist in program-specific curriculum development, literature review, and clinical training initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotation as directed by the supervisor and in accordance with program policy.
- Conduct level of care assessments as required.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and orderly environment, including providing crisis intervention when necessary.
- Complete all required trainings and adhere to all company and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in a recognized clinical discipline that includes a clinical practicum.
- Active Pennsylvania clinical license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
- Clinical experience in mental health treatment required.
- Experience in outpatient, non-ASAM, mental health settings strongly preferred.
