JOB TITLE: STAMPING PRESS OPERATOR, Entry Level

Dept: Stamping

Salary Level: Hourly with 10% differential

Reports to: Stamping Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Stamping Press Operator Level E, an entry level position, is responsible for operating stamping dies and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow verbal and written procedures.
  • Perform all physical and mechanical duties to keep process functioning.
  • Maintain all appropriate records, which may include production totals, maintenance performed, inventory usage, etc.
  • Meet identified daily production requirements. Assure customer production requirements are met.
  • Load raw materials.
  • Cleans packaging containers; lines and pads crates; assembles cartons; obtains and sorts product.
  • Wrap protective material around product; starts, stops and regulates speed of conveyor.
  • Insert or pour product into containers or fills containers from spout or chute.
  • Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
  • Nails, glues, or closes and seals containers; labels containers, container tags or products.
  • Sorts, bundles or fills containers.
  • Packs special arrangements of selections of product.
  • Inspects materials, products and containers at each step of packaging process.
  • Records information such as weight, time and date packaged.
  • Constant evaluation of processes and/or equipment to increase productivity.
  • Identify, communicate process problems quickly and effectively to minimize down time.
  • Utilize appropriate quality assurance practices and equipment to ensure that all products conform to applicable design specifications.
  • Visual inspection of product to identify process problem areas.
  • Proper documentation of all quality related inspections per customer specification and/or program requirements.
  • Practice good housekeeping, maintain a clean work area to minimize the risk of personal injury, equipment damage, or the manufacture of non-conforming product.

  • Identify and communicate any unsafe equipment or working conditions.
  • Work overtime and shift work as required.

  • Promote a team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Participate in IATF 16949 and continuous improvement requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
