Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Procurement Specialist to efficiently manage purchasing activities in accordance with company procurement policies. The ideal candidate will prepare bid documentation, process procurement requests, and communicate project progress to stakeholders while ensuring compliance and timely delivery. This role also includes coverage support for the MBTA Mailroom during absences.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase requests for goods and services following procurement policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and post bid documentation on public bidding sites.
  • Compile and prepare approval documents for bid awards.
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, including executives and clients.
  • Manage and maintain up-to-date project documentation and files.
  • Provide vacation and absence coverage for the MBTA Mailroom.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement policies, bid processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computer tools and public bidding platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with public sector procurement or similar regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with MBTA systems or municipal operations.

Additional Information

  • This role requires adaptability for coverage of mailroom duties during absences.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Contract duration is six months with potential for extension.
