Job Description

Imagine shaping the future of energy. As part of Olsson's Transmission and Substation team, you'll design and deliver the infrastructure that powers communities and supports renewable integration. Our work strengthens the grid, improves reliability, and prepares for tomorrow's energy demands. From concept to construction, you'll help bring high-voltage transmission lines and substation facilities to life—projects you can take pride in every time you drive by.

Join our team as a Transmission Design Engineer. In this role, you'll build expertise in transmission line design, substation engineering, and protection and control systems. You'll support senior engineers through all phases of a project, ensuring high-quality deliverables and exceptional client service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze transmission and substation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex projects.
  • Participate in site visits and field inspections.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Continue learning and growing professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, civil or structural preferred. 
  • Four or more years of engineering design experience.
  • Registered professional engineer (PE), a plus.
