Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our BRAND NEW HI TECH DENTAL OFFICE. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere for patients while supporting the clinical team with a wide range of procedures. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more, all while making a positive impact on patients' oral health and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols
  • Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices to capture accurate diagnostic images while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Take vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care planning
  • Manage dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions in clear, understandable language
  • Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical documentation with Epic or similar systems
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards throughout all clinical procedures to ensure patient safety
  • Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a friendly environment for young patients and understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
  • Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental terminology
  • Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy
  • Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and support the dental team
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during four-handed dentistry sessions while maintaining a positive attitude
