Summary:
This role handles the accurate entry, review, and processing of payroll information. It includes managing routine payroll cycles, performing audits, and maintaining quality control for both bi-weekly and monthly payroll runs. The position also supports general data entry tasks and ensures payroll records and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Track discrepancies and follow up on invoices awaiting approval

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and verify final reports
*
Prepare accurate and timely year-end payroll documentation (e.g., W-2, W-2c)
*
Apply proper taxation rules for employer-paid benefits
*
Review and validate employee timecards for accuracy
*
Process check runs and apply manual payments when needed
*
Generate ad hoc financial or operational reports as needed
*
Support bi-weekly payroll cycles, including direct deposits, payroll reports, adjustments, reimbursements, manual checks, reconciliations, and ACH activity
*
Respond to employment verification requests from external agencies
*
Handle compliance tasks related to unclaimed payroll checks
*
Print and reconcile month-end payroll and accounting reports
*
Calculate and process deductions (taxes, insurance, garnishments, etc.)
*
Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are completed accurately and on schedule
*
Interpret prevailing wage requirements and complete certified payroll documentation when applicable
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
*
Certification such as CPP is a plus, but not required
*
Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations
*
Solid knowledge of relevant workplace compliance standards
*
Proficient with computers, including strong Excel skills
*
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
*
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
*
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
*
Demonstrates a strong work ethic and collaborates well within a team
